I was invited to a chemistry students' dinner last year and I decided to cook up a wordsearch for people to complete in groups.
It's a bit of a bruiser: all 118 chemical elements and 5 bonus words are hidden in the grid. The words go up, down, backwards and diagonally, and the jumbled letters are in the same proportion as they occur in the periodic table.
You'll probably need a periodic table if you're not acquainted with the names of the elements. The wordsearch does fit on an A4 sheet, but printing it on A3 looks more impressive. There are some instructions too, and an answer sheet in the "three in one" .zip file.
Make as many copies as you like, pass it round, pass it on. Please don't sell it though, unless it's for charity fundraising. I'd love to hear from you if you do!
